As we watched several customers throughout the night leave, each one of them got a personal farewell from a waiter, bartender, owner, hostess. In addition to the wonderful meal and service by Peppy and Pilar, the general atmosphere at Cibo was so warm and welcoming. I had perfectly grilled shrimp over a very tasty sweet pea & prosciutto risotto. a roasted piece of tender, juicy flavorful chicken cooked to perfection with a rich marsala demi-glace. My husband had the chicken marsala which was definitely not your ordinary chicken cutlet swimming in a gravy of mushrooms. It seemed as if everyone already knew each other - they've all dined at Cibo many times which says a lot about the restaurant.

The other folks at the bar also had some wonderful recommendations. Peppy gave us some detailed dinner recommendations which helped us decide what to order. so glad we did! The service provided by Peppy and Pilar was exceptional. And everyone happily accommodated us! Peppy asked if we would like to eat at the bar rather than wait for a table. Within minutes, the bar tender, Peppy, asked everyone if they would move down one seat to make room for my husband. There was one seat open at the bar so we grabbed it and ordered some wine. It was a Saturday night around 7 pm and the place was packed. We didn't have reservations and were told it would be about 30 mins.

All in all, a great experience. After reading other reviews on trip advisor we decided to give it a try. We have paid a lot more locally for way less. The bill was surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food. We had a bottle of pretty decent wine (plus an extra glass for me!!) and hubby had a cappuccino with dessert. We only ordered dessert as we didn't want the night to end.

We're not really 'dessert people' so this in no way spoiled our experience. We shared a dessert, the chocolate lava cake, which looked fantastic when it arrived but was mildly disappointing - not rich or chocolatey enough for me. My dearest one had the 'salmone alla piccata' which he declared delicious. It was truly the best meal I've had in a long time (if I only had a sweater on it would have been a perfect night). Now for the entrees.OMG!!! I ordered the 'Filetto di manzo', which came with mashed potatoes and saute spinach but what made it heavenly was the mouthwatering combination of the port wine demi glace and a gorgonzola fonduta. The food was to die for! My husband and I both had a salad to start - he the house salad and me the spinach salad - both perfectly fresh and delicious. What a gem of a place and just a 5 minute drive from our home!! Our server was so lovely and warm and I'm sorry I cant remember her name but she took great care of us, with just the right amount of attention, bringing us more bread (amazing) and explaining all the dishes in detail. This, however, was the only negative thing I have to say about this lovely new discovery. I realized immediately that I should have worn warmer clothes, as the temperature was just a little too cold for me to really enjoy my meal. We arrived and were greeted pleasantly and quickly shown to our table - a booth in the 'bar side' of this surprisingly small restaurant. I had tried to make a reservation at Cibo for the previous Saturday and they were fully booked (always a good sign) so I booked a table for the next Saturday at 8pm.
